Dear Readers,
Welcome to the July 2024 issue of Shine On Hollywood Magazine (“SOHM”), the 12th Anniversary and Music Special Edition. We are proud to feature as our cover story singer-songwriter Anders Osborne, legendary award-winning drummer Chad Cromwell, and the upcoming singing group, The Lake Sirens, which consists of six close-knit friends: Windy Wagner,
Gina Marcione, Shannon Ggem, Sande Alessi, Pamela Ireland, and Beth Walker. The average age of the group’s members is 55.5, but the Sirens prove that age is just a number. Although the Sirens have all forged their paths in life based on different passions and interests, they now come together to sing harmonies and enjoy each other’s friendship while manifesting the next chapter of their lives. Plus we feature the music collaborative organization Music Fuze which was co-founded in 2018 by singer/saxophonist Suzanne Grzanna (the Sax Diva) and singer/pianist/producer Alex Otey, and later joined by singer/songwriter/filmmaker and author Kim Cameron. Their focus has been to build Music Fuze as an organization to host live musical performances, showcasing a variety of talent and music genres, while facilitating global networking opportunities. With this common purpose, the team has sought venues in which to host musical creativity that also have friendly networking spaces at locations across the US. Since its inception, Music Fuze has hosted multiple events in Los Angeles and Nashville, with planning for New York City underway. Also featured in this special music issue is award-winning singer/songwriter and philanthropist Amy McAllister, who is living her dreams of making a lasting, positive impact on the charitable causes she is most passionate about. One example of her giving heart was launching I AM Jewelry, donating 100% of the proceeds to bring love, light, and smiles to foster children, children fighting cancer, the elderly, survivors of domestic violence, veterans, the homeless, and those with physical or mental disabilities.
2024 marks the 12th anniversary of Shine On Hollywood Magazine (SOHM). It all came about from
a single concept -- no gossip, religion, sexual orientation, or politics. We focus on what unites humanity, not that which divides us. Shine On Hollywood Magazine began as an idea in which individuals in the entertainment industry would share true, positive, and educational stories about their experiences from the very beginning of their careers through their successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
We hear of people overcoming extreme difficulties, pulling themselves up by the proverbial bootstraps, and against all odds, succeeding in exceptional ways. I took this concept and my life journey to the next level. As the Founder, Publisher, and Editor-In-Chief, I have been privileged and humbled to oversee 12 years of explosive global growth. During these 12 years, truly extraordinary experiences have fueled the growing legacy and reputation of Shine On Hollywood Magazine.
My inspirational journey, moving against the grain, and as some say, “against friction”, continues with my deepest desire: to help improve and inspire the journey of others so they may believe in themselves and live their true potential and life purpose.
In 2012, my vision began to sprout at the same time I was battling a life threatening illness. What saved me was the process of extracting a vision I had conceived since July 2011, publishing a magazine where positive stories in Hollywood overtook the predominantly negative and gossip-ridden entertainment world. As I lay in my hospital bed, this vision gave me a purpose to keep living. The birth to SOHM was a combination of determination and positivity along with strong feeling in my deepest inner core and soul that I had found my life purpose.
The goal of “Shine On Hollywood” is to provide different, positive, and uplifting stories about Hollywood and the Entertainment industry, for its worldwide audience. "Real People, Real Stories" and "Let them be your motivation”, these overall themes of the magazine have been its standout in the field of e-publication.
In May 2013 and again in September 2015, SOHM was featured at the heart of Times Square, emblazoned in light, on the 9,000 sq. ft. NASDAQ Marquee, in New York City. SOHM ranks #3 for the Google search “Hollywood magazine” and continues to be the fastest-growing publication of its kind, while other long established magazine circulations continue to decline.
July 2024 marked our 12th year of e-publication. Shine On Hollywood Magazine is looking ever forward to increasing its influence as a positive force in the entertainment and related business industries. I am always creating something new and always seeking ways to make the world, my circumstance, and yours, a better place to live.
Today, during challenging times in the United States and globally, our work at SOHM—building connection and understanding through the inspiring interviews we publish and the stories we share could not be more vital. We continue to work tirelessly, to grow SOHM, and to connect what matters most in the world – people! We continuously aim to be part of the solution, developing an understanding among ourselves, and driving empathy to promote a culture of education. By sharing inspiring stories with our 26.6+ million readers, we can collectively see that SOHM illuminates truths that are vital to civil society and healthy democracy. As a society, we need more commonalities than divisions, and from sharing this theme with our readers, the need for unity emerges. As a society, we need that unity to not only survive but to thrive. We strive to protect and preserve the arts and entertainment industry from politics that only serve to divide us. SOHM offers a publication that shines hope into the world of Hollywood.
We mark our 12th anniversary as one of the industry's fastest-growing publications focusing on arts and entertainment in Hollywood and in the entertainment community worldwide. During these past twelve years, I have had some truly extraordinary experiences and have connected with people from around the world while focusing on the positive stories that help lift the human spirit.
Our profiles include actors, singers, dancers, culinary stars, athletes and other artists along with behind-the-scenes talents such as agents, managers, publicists, choreographers, costume designers, make-up artists, directors, photographers, philanthropists, and others who play an equally important role in establishing the finished product which entertains, inspires and enlightens us.
Our exclusive interviews have contributed to many exceptional “tips'' for our readers to learn from. Many young professionals have taken notes for their success, and I have heard many times about how something they have read in SOHM has positively affected and changed their lives for the better. That's what SOHM is all about.
In addition, for people in the United States and around the world, Hollywood is viewed as an oasis of glitz and glamour. It is that, of course, BUT it is also so much more. SOHM seeks to conquer this perception through genuine stories of individuals who are making a difference from the ground up by helping others through charitable works and contributions. We love showcasing these stories as part of our feature profiles or as feature stories sharing how celebrities and non-celebrities alike are giving back to their communities.
Finally, in celebration of our 12th anniversary, I would like to take a moment to thank my executive team for their tireless efforts and late nights to bring the stories to you—the readers—that make this magazine so successful. The interviews, entertainment reviews, behind-the-scenes access, red carpet interviews, and other pieces that make up Shine On Hollywood Magazine are due to a group effort from 2012-2024 and we share a few photos where we support, encourage, and heap praise on each other for continued jobs that are exceedingly well done. I'm proud to share that our team comprises multi-talented, beautiful human beings. Through their tireless dedication, they prove that people still exist who wish to love more and give more of themselves unconditionally.
There are many ways to define success. One of the most important ones to me is having the ability to help inspire and empower others. Shine On Hollywood Magazine (SOHM) is the global platform that has enabled me to achieve many victories in this area.

Moreover, no one “edits” us or steers our opinion. This is important as it enables us to give a voice to those less heard. 4th Annual HFPA Special Edition Issue of SOHM Featuring the 78th Golden Globes Awards 2021 This limited 4th Annual special edition of Shine On Hollywood Magazine ("SOHM") issue. Throughout their 78-year history, the Golden Globe Awards have given back to the community while providing an entertaining celebration of the best in film and television each year. For this reason, SOHM has proudly covered the Golden Globe ceremonies for the past four years in Special Edition yearbooks. This year, the Golden Globe Awards looked very different because of the virtual format, but the HFPA worked to make it a memorable event. Celebrities gathered in the Beverly Hilton’s International Ballroom in Los Angeles and in the Rainbow Room in New York to act as presenters at the awards ceremony, which was hosted from opposite sides of the country by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Nominees dressed up (for the most part) and congregated in front of their home screens with friends, family, and pets to await the announcement of winners! The HFPA continued its tradition of celebrating for a good cause this year. Its philanthropic partner was Feeding America, the largest hunger-relief and food rescue organization in the United States, which has provided food to millions of people throughout the pandemic. Also on a philanthropic note, Sean Penn spoke at the awards ceremony about the Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), the non-profit organization he founded in 2010; the HFPA donated to CORE because of its efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the audience wasn’t filled with celebrities, the HFPA invited first responders and Feeding America food bank workers to attend the ceremony in person. This thoughtful gesture provided a small but appreciative live audience to the festivities, as well as showing appreciation for these public servants. We are facing daunting times with many questions and few certain answers. However, one thing is certain -- we will get through this together as a family, as a nation and as a world. Our nation and much of the world was embroiled in another struggle 75 years ago that also delivered a staggering toll--World War II. People at that time were also hungry for some form of diversion and sought out films as a form of escape. That is when a small group of international journalists based in Los Angeles banded together to share the latest in entertainment news from home and around the world to fill that hunger. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the organization behind the Golden Globes, was formed. This limited special SOHM edition its 2nd Annual of Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the “HFPA”) yearbook featuring former presidents of HFPA Philip Berk has been a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for more than 40 years, serving 8 years as its president. The Annual Golden Globes is often thought of as the “Party of the Year” in the entertainment world! It’s a celebration of the HFPA, the organization behind the Golden Globes. It’s also a testament to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the “HFPA”)! What started with a small group of international journalists based in Los Angeles who banded together to share the latest in entertainment news from home and around the world has turned into the glitzy and revered celebration of the year honoring the best in film and television. It also raises money to fund the HFPA Charitable Trust which, in the past 31 years, has given away more than $33 million in fellowships and grants to film schools and non-profit organizations. A small group of international journalists based in Los Angeles banded together to share the latest in entertainment news from home and around the world to fill this hunger. The HFPA created the Golden Globe awards ceremony to further their goals of highlighting the world of entertainment. Today, the glitzy affair celebrates the best in film and television and also raises money to fund the HFPA Charitable Trust which, in the past 31 years, has given away more than $29 million in fellowships and grants to film schools and non-profit organizations.
