Billie Jean is survived by her daughter Alexis Bean, her mother Donna Katzen, sisters Marty Sudman (Leonardo Sudman), Becky Herbert (Mark Herbert), Kim Kavanagh (Sean Kavanagh), and brother Anthony Moreland (Rosanne Moreland); nieces, Karissa and Brittany Herbert, Riley and Reagan Kavanagh, nephews, Brian Herbert, Braden and Mason Moreland.
Billie Jean was the Fashion, Public Relations, and Digital Media Supervisor for Shine On Hollywood Magazine on and off for 6 years. In addition, she founded Events By Billie Jean, a boutique event production and public relations firm. Thirty-three years later with overwhelming success, focusing on taking every client’s production and promotion to unparalleled levels in their genre. She was the authority on developing a winning marketing strategy to assist in special event production and celebrity endorsements. She possessed an uncanny ability to increase brand awareness and product placement.
She earned a Master’s in Business Communications from California Northridge University and demonstrated excellence in virtually every facet of the entertainment field while focusing her talents on journalism: she was employed at numerous crème de la crème entertainment magazines as a writer/editor; she excelled as an editor and producer; and she led television, film, and commercial development for Mark Alyn Productions.
In 2017, she founded Beverly Hills Fashion Society focusing on fashion, film, and finance opportunities. BHFS’s mission was to strengthen the impact of global fashion and arts.

John L. Seitz
Contributing Senior Writer John Seitz Obituary - Culver City, CA (May 15, 1936 - November 16, 2021) John Lawrence Seitz, Jr. passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 and was born on May 15, 1936. Beloved by many, John was a modern day version of The Great Gatsby. He threw lavish parties annually in his Bel Air home over looking the Getty Museum. He loved entertaining with Musicians and hundred of all kinds of eclectic people. John was a kind soul yet with a quick wit and he could catch you off guard with unusually interesting and funny stories that only Hollywood Insiders could know. He was also very kind and compassionate and helped others where he could. John Seitz, Sr. won multiple Academy Awards for films such as Sunset Boulevard and Double Indemnity so John Junior was born into Hollywood Royalty. John was also involved in Public Relations through the Hilton Hotels and worked with the likes of many Hollywood Celebrities and even numerous present and past Presidents. He also was previously an owner of the Beverly Hills Courier. Beloved, John with a twinkle in his eye, could always make a person smile. He will be sorely missed by SOH team and many. ~ Leith Easton ABOUT: John L. Seitz has an extensive background in the heyday of Hollywood and moviedom history. He is the son of John F. Seitz, a pioneer cinematographer from 1916 through 1960 with more than 170 films in his long career. These included Rudolph Valentino’s breakthrough starring part in 1921’s The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, five of box office sensation Shirley Temple’s major hits in the 1930s, and such 1940s and 1950s classics as Sullivan’s Travels, Double Indemnity, The Lost Weekend, This Gun For Hire, The Great Gatsby, Sunset Blvd, etc. He was credited as one of the masters of film noir and was also an inventor with some 17 patents to his name. His wife (John L.’s mother Mary) began working at MGM on its opening day in 1924 and eventually wrote the screenplay for 1928’s The Big Trail, John Wayne’s first starring picture. John L.’s godfather or “Uncle Buddy” was B. G. DeSylva, the co-founder of Capitol Records, production head of Paramount Pictures in the early 1940s, and one of the most prolific songwriter/lyricists during the 1920s with such hits as California Here I Come, If You Knew Susie, April Shows, The Best Things In Life Are Free, You're The Cream In My Coffee, Somebody Loves Me, Look For The Silver Lining, Avalon, etc. John L.'s own movie career consisted of a 35-second walk-on scene at age six with his "co-star" Gary Cooper in 1943's Casanova Brown plus a four week stint as Marlon Brando's gofer in Tahiti during Mutiny On The Bounty. After earning B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Southern California, he spent four years in the advertising department of Bank of America before joining Swafford & Company, a noted ad agency specializing in the hotel business. He established that company's public relations department with his first major client being The Beverly Hilton. During his tenure there, he coordinated the arrangements with the White House for visits to the hotel by Presidents John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard M. Nixon plus promotional events for Conrad N. Hilton. He formed his own advertising/public relations agency in 1967 (Seitz, West & Swafford (later (Seitz-Robison, Inc.) which also concentrated on the hotel and restaurant business in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and later on established a nationwide menu design firm (Seitz-Tarnoff, Inc.) with clients in Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, and Atlantic City. After 25 years, he sold his entities and did freelance work as a financial writer for the Foristall Company and as an investor outreach to securities’ analysts and portfolio managers for Silverman-Heller Associates. In 2004 he joined up as a partner in the purchase of the Beverly Hills Courier and was the senior editor of that community publication for 14 years. During the past two decades, he has also served as senior counselor at Foley-Freisleben L.L.C., a major investor relations firm. |
Ron C. Peck
Humania Executive Researcher & Production Coordinator's Story Ron Peck Obituary - Redmond, WA He passed away on July 9th, 2021. “This little boy from Kenosha Wisconsin” as Ron described himself, led an inspired life of curiosity and learning that touched and nourished many people. As a boy he earned his amateur radio call sign W9BXO. By high school he was the emergency radio operator for the Kenosha Police and Fire Departments. As a young man in the Army he served overseas during the Berlin Wall conflict fixing NATO radio sites. For 30 years he traveled the world building nuclear medicine clinics. For 55 years he was a devoted husband to his wife Carol Peck and loving father to their three children, Tonya, Tara, and RC. His passion for the martial arts and helping others led him to form a close friendship with Olympic Judo Coach Willy Cahill, with whom he co-founded the Blind Judo Foundation. While Willy took care of business ‘on the mat’, Ron worked at the Foundation daily to secure funding and support for blind & visually impaired athletes to compete at the very top of the sport. Ron ran the Foundation for 17 years. Ron’s connection to the UW began in 2015 when he joined the Community Action Board (CAB) of the UW Medicine Eye Institute. He co-led the CAB’s Outreach Committee alongside Camille Jassny for many years. During that time he participated in the UW Mini-Medical School program and supported the opening of the UW Medicine Karalis Johnson Retina Center at South Lake Union. Before his death on July 9th, 2021 you could find Ron in his office writing his memoirs, online in singing lessons, and outside playing with his grandchildren and grand-dogs. Ron had a young spirit and a joy of life that those who knew him loved and adored. BJF is a nonprofit organization empowering blind and visually-impaired athletes to achieve maximum independence using the principles of Judo. Not only has he had an extensive international business and entrepreneurial history as founder of a medical software company in radiation oncology, with service as Executive Director of the Neurological Disease Foundation, he now continues to contribute by working with the Inclusive Physical Education, Sport, Fitness and Recreation segment of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to bring the sport to the inclusive, diverse and disability community around the world. He is currently the co-chair and board member of the University of Washington Medicine Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence, and co-chair of the University of Washington Outreach Committee and Eye Institute and Vision Sciences. Ron’s full life, dedicated to commitment and balance, has included not only humanitarian endeavors, but has also provided a history of top secret security clearance with NATO and the US Army, membership in the stunt man’s association, over 50 years of a loving marriage, and a litany of accomplishments in sales engineering, such as the establishment of the American Medical Software Company in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
